Resume to job matching

Find jobs that fit your resume. See why.

A job title alone cannot tell you whether a role suits your experience. HireOn AI compares your saved resume with real job listings, ranks the results, and explains where your background aligns or falls short.

Your resume is needed for a personal match score. You can browse jobs without one.

How resume matching works

Start with the facts in your own resume. HireOn AI then compares them with the skills and experience described in available jobs.

1. Save your resume

Paste your resume or import a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file. Review the skills and work history the app identifies.

2. Search real jobs

Search by role and location. Listings from supported job sources are ranked against your profile when you are signed in.

3. Inspect the explanation

Look beyond the percentage: see aligned skills, missing requirements, and the job description before deciding to apply.

Worked examples

Illustrative examples of how to read a match explanation. They are not real candidates, vacancies or hiring predictions.

Strong overlap, one gap

A support lead's resume shows service management, SLA governance and customer success, and the role also asks for FinOps. The explanation lists three aligned skills and one missing one. Next step: check whether FinOps is required or only preferred before applying.

Skill present but not written down

An analyst has run incident reviews but never put it on their resume, so the match shows "incident management" as missing. Next step: add the real experience to the profile so later matches can recognise it.

Mostly gaps

A career changer matches only one of five required skills. The low score is a signal, not a verdict. Next step: compare similar roles and open the Skill Gap Coach to find the one skill that recurs most.

Use a match score as a starting point

A score depends on what the job listing says and what your resume actually contains. An omitted skill can appear as a gap even if you possess it. Review the source listing, correct your profile if needed, and make the final decision yourself.

Common questions

Can I search without uploading a resume?

Yes. You can explore jobs first. Save a resume when you want personal match scores and explanations.

Does a high score mean I will get an interview?

No. It describes overlap between the listing and your profile; employers consider many other factors.

Can I improve a match?

Keep your resume accurate and complete. If a required skill is missing, use the Skill Gap Coach to decide what to learn next.

Which file types can I upload?

PDF, DOCX or TXT, up to 10 MB. You can also paste your resume text.

Where do the jobs come from?

Job search results are pulled live from Adzuna, Remotive and Arbeitnow. Clicking a listing takes you to the source site.
